This twerking little rascal has a place in my heart and I am here to explain why you all should love her the same. I am currently watching the MTV Video Music Awards as I type this up and it has brought back very uncomfortable memories of the VMAs last year.
There I was sitting in my room at the sorority house when all the sudden a girl dressed in a bear costume with weird pigtail buns came on stage. Once she started inappropriately touching herself with that foam finger I knew things would only go south. And I was correct. My mouth dropped in disbelief when she started twerking on Robin Thicke. It was just weird! But looking back all I can think about is how genius it all was. The number one rule of PR is that "all publicity is good publicity" and Miley is a perfect example of that. She had EVERYONE talking about her. It doesn't matter if it was good or bad, all that mattered was her name was everywhere.
I slowly started to realize what an amazing woman Miley was. She had just gone from losing the man to whom she was engaged, to being one of the most famous people in the world in basically no time at all. Here are a few things that make her one of my favorite people and even someone I can look up to (yes I said look up to):
She gives zero you-know-whats. Literally zero. Nothing phases her and she just goes with the flow. I know a lot of people, including myself, that should stop caring so much about what other people are thinking or doing or saying and just worry about themselves.
She is one of the most naturally gorgeous people I have ever seen. Her big beautiful blue eyes make me so jealous! And she looks good with a crazy short cut and platinum blond hair, and that's saying a lot.
*Small pause to bring light to the fact that Taylor Swift is a more awkward dancer than that super drunk girl on the stage at Rumorz (RIP).*
She is so very entertaining. When she performs it is just mesmerizing. Also, she actually has a good live singing voice, which is unfortunately hard to find now a days.
She uses her popularity to shine light on issues greater than herself. For example, I almost just started tearing up after she allowed a homeless young man accept her VMA for Video of the Year. He gave a very moving speech where he talked about the the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in our Nation. He asked everyone to visit Miley's facebook page to learn more about the epidemic happening in our back yards. She really has a big and beautiful heart everyone!!
Like I previously stated, she did not mope around when her heart was broken and her life was shattered. She used that pain as inspiration to write her hit song Wrecking Ball, which she just won that VMA for by the way. She is stronger than I am, that's for sure. That's the main reason I think she is so inspirational!
It's safe to say that Miley is my spirit animal and when people diss her it makes me sad! I mean Beyonce is literally pole dancing on stage right now with her toddler watching from the crowd. If Miley just wants to twerk a little, let her do her thing!
