They've taught me so much about life.

I had never considered what it would mean to me to be an aunt this young, but I've found it to be the biggest perk of being the youngest child by far. My older sisters have blessed me with two beautiful nieces and although they don't realize the impact they've made yet, they've taught me so much about life in just a few short years that they've been a part of our family. Below are the reasons I love being a young aunt.

1. I Get To Watch Them Grow Up

From day one and forever on, I will get to watch and support them as they hit all of their major milestones and accomplish their goals and dreams. I will be their confidant, their biggest cheerleader and probably the first one to let them sneak their first little sip of alcohol from my drink.

2. Spoiling Them

Although my sisters aren't big fans of me violating the rules they have in place for their girls, I, of course, love to push those boundaries in order to spoil my nieces. Whether that be in the form of a cookie or two before supper or keeping them up past their bedtime, I love seeing the excitement on their faces when auntie comes to the rescue.

3. I Get To Show You Off

All of my friends love my nieces, more than they love me probably, so it's always fun to take them out and about for everyone to see.

4. They're Not My Child

As much as I love them, I have to admit they can be absolutely exhausting. I'm thankful to have such a strong bond with them, but I'm also thankful I can go home at the end of the night and do what I want without the stress of changing dirty diapers and being up at odd hours of the night caring for someone other than myself. I think I could go my whole life being an aunt, it's all of the fun and none of the stress.

5. All The Memories We've Made and Will Continue Making

As they grow older, I look forward to making memories with them not only as their aunt but as their friend. I don't think I will ever be able to put into words what they mean to me and how they've changed my life, but I will spend every second of the future trying to show them.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
