So often people think of big cities they want to go and visit. New York City, St. Louis, Las Vegas, Seattle, Chicago. Sometimes, though, Dallas slips into the list of big cities to visit. People decide Dallas would be a fun place to take a vacation. Dallas is growing to become more than just a city, but a place of fun; and here is why Dallas is the worst place to go to school...
1. Bishop Arts
Bishop Arts has become the center-stage for a multitude of new shops to open and find their place in the world. The nighttime buzz and mass of people make for a fun area to spend, not just the weekend, but every weekday. And don't get me started on the amount of photo-ops there are in Bishop Arts...
2. Deep Ellum
Deep Ellum, originally named "Deep Elm," is known for the eclectic vibes and nightlife scenery. Deep Ellum has grown into a meeting center for people who want to enjoy good food, good art, and good company.
3. Trinity Grove
Known as the "dining theme park," Trinity Groves is an area for new restaurant owners to find their place and serve great food. Located right next to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, Trinity Groves is an area of high-flowing traffic attracting many curious eaters.
4. Klyde Warren Park
Want a place to enjoy nature, people, and modern art? Klyde Warren Park offers all of that and more. Located in the middle of Downtown Dallas, Klyde Warren Park offers an island of nature amidst city life. There are tables and chairs for anyone to enjoy a picnic alongside their best friend, grass to sit on, and enjoy the company of strangers' dogs, and concrete paths to follow and observe the fun.
5. Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is the place for dates on a sunny Texas day. Located directly southeast of White Rock Lake, this area provides nature in full bloom. The Arboretum is a peaceful place to set aside time to talk and get to know a new friend.
6. Close Proximity to Arlington
Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor. Each of these places is a central location of fun. Located about 30 minutes from Downtown Dallas, Arlington is the place to go on a free evening. Whether you're enjoying rides or the sound of the crack of a bat on a warm day, you're guaranteed to have a blast in Arlington.
7. Coffee Shops
You would have to spend three days to visit all of the coffee shops in Dallas. If there is ever a bored weekend, coffee shop hopping is the thing to do. Each coffee shop offers a different specialty and different vibe and none of them will disappoint.
8. Endless Rooftop Exploration Sites
Finding a rooftop to climb to is not a difficult task in Dallas. Downtown Dallas offers a variety of places to view the beauty of a big city- atop a building. Often times, hours and hours are spent finding the best rooftop with the best view.
9. Skyline

As you can see, Dallas is a phenomenal place to live. So, why, you ask, is Dallas the worst place to go to school? Well, I may have been a bit dramatic. Dallas is the worst for students because we get too excited about the city we live in that we spend more time and money on experiences than actually on our schoolwork. None of us are complaining about that, though. However, when we are avoiding homework by exploring Dallas, we are growing closer to friends and making more memories. Memories and friends are more important than grades in the long run anyways, right? (Just don't tell my parents). Dallas is the best place to live and experience life. Come to school here, it's great. Procrastination may always be haunting you, but it's worth it.
