Now introducing you to my favorite television show, and your soon-to-be new favorite summer show. Here is a quick synopsis of the show "Big Brother" on CBS: "Big Brother" follows a cast of complete strangers living in a house together while being watched 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. One by one the house guests are evicted until after summer and the three month season ends, and we are left with a final winner of $500,000.
Now that you have some background, after you read why you should watch the show, go get caught up on the CBS website and tune in weekly on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday @ 8 pm.
So, why Big Brother?
1) It airs 3 days per week
You get to watch your favorite TV show with new footage, three times a week! The excitement is never ending. With different competitions every Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and someone going home every week, you have to stay caught up and in the loop! I am always so excited for the next episode and kept on my toes by every house flip!
2) Critical thinking
This show makes you have to think deeply about every part of the game. These house guests have to plan their whole stay in the house, what they will tell the other house guests, who they can trust just by reading people generically the first day, and when it is good to win a competition or throw it. Every move is calculated, and you always have to watch your back. After all, Big Brother is watching.
3) It's a social game
"Big Brother" is all about how you interact with the other house guests. You want a low profile, but need to be social and make friends. Winning too many competitions makes you a target, but tagging along and not winning any can as well. This game teaches you that no matter how much you dislike someone, there are benefits of being kind regardless. They could be your saving vote to keep you in the house this week, and someone who could not put you up for eviction next week. Be kind.
4) The crazy house flip
At ANY moment, on ANY week, the whole house could completely flip. I have seen this many times, some house guests find it is better to save someone this week instead of sending them out the door like the original plan was. They beg and work magic on getting others to switch their vote as well, and sadly some really innocent people go home that were not suppose to. Who some people need out, can be another person's best friend and game player they rely on. The tables can be turned any second, leaving you on your toes in anticipation.
5) Trust
This game teaches you that sometimes you cannot trust anyone but yourself. Know key information beneficial to you? Don't spread it, you never know who could turn on you and use it against you. It teaches you to befriend a small number of people and become close with them, keeping a safe distance from others on a trust level. I am a firm believer that some people were just born backstabbers.
Go tune in to this fabulous show and share with others how incredible it is! You only get one shot at Big Brother, but as Julie Chen always says, "expect the unexpected."
