8 Reasons Why I Love Louisiana

“Geaux Tigers.”

“Pinch the tail and suck the head!”

If you’re from Louisiana, you surely knew these expressions right when you came out the womb. Louisiana is one of the greatest and unique states you’ll ever encounter. It’s difficult not to fall in love with Louisiana with the great families, food and, of course, fun. It has been a pleasure living in this great state for 18 years and I just wanted to share some of my favorite things about my hometown.

1. Mardi Gras

Parties, parades, king cakes and much more. It doesn’t get any better than that.

2. Food.. Grandma’s cooking.. Crawfish.. Oh, the food

The food is what makes Louisiana Louisiana. Crawfish season is the season everybody waits for. Oh, and you can’t forget about “gumbo season," for anybody who does not know... Yes, it's a real thing and it is awesome. Red beans and rice? Who couldn't live without that? Grandma's Sunday lunch cooking is what everybody looks forward to after church.

3. Crawfish Boils

Who doesn't love a good, spicy, cajun crawfish boil? There is something special and warming about crawfish boils that just brings everyone together.

4. Music

Cajun, jazz, country, rap, pop, rock and roll. From dances, to clubs, to outdoor festivities, Louisiana is the place to be if you are a music lover.

5. Tony Chachere’s

My oh my, I know I can’t live without this stuff. I love my spices. Louisiana cooking would not be the same without them.

6. New Orleans

Jazz music? Bourbon Street? French Quarter? There are plenty of things for anybody to do in New Orleans. I promise you, you’ll never be bored.

7. Snoballs

What would a hot summer day be without a snoball? Exactly--nothing. There are thousands of flavors, some you would never even think about trying.

8. Southern Hospitality

No matter where you go, there will always be the sweetest people ready to welcome you. Even the strangers--they don’t know you, but they love you already!


I love my hometown and I would not change my past 18 years here for anything!
