If you're anything like me, graduating college has always seemed like a lifetime away. But now here I am, here we all are, with less than 90 days until we are officially college graduates.
Our entire lives up to this point have been about getting us this far. Every early morning study session, all of the after school activities, all of the papers and the mental breakdowns half way through sophomore year, graduation is right there.
The realizations I've have over the last weeks are both terrifying and inspiring.
Here's a few.
I have to start dressing up.
The days of Nike shorts and frat t-shirts are almost over. The days of no make-up, hair up and leggings are also mostly over. I have to start investing in professional clothes like now.
Goodbye sweet college uniform. You will be missed.
Waking up early is never going to end.
Days of no responsibilities, I mean class, until 11:00 a.m. are over. Its time for me to have a set schedule.
I'm now my own boss now.
Graduating equals life decisions. Decisions that I will be making for myself. I don't have to consult others. I am the boss.
The world is at my feet.
I will have a college degree. That is something that some people can only dream about. Knowledge is power people. And all of us about to graduate, we have it.
The world is also a hard place.
The world is not all butterflies, cupcakes and rainbows. If that hasn't hit yet I wish you luck. Yes, the world is mine to take but I know it will not be an easy task.
Coffee really is amazing.
A cup of coffee in the morning really does start off my day with a positive vibe. There is a reason coffee is so popular, people.
I can't worry about disappointing others.
Disappointing myself is way more important. I have to make myself happy.
Life is fun!
Enough said.
Adulthood hasn't even started.
I'm supposedly an adult now. But for some reason I feel like my adulthood won't start until the day that diploma is in my hand.
I actually did it.
I have made it this far. I have less than 70 days left. Holy Crap.
