As Christians, we don't always read the Bible when we are supposed to. Life gets busy and by the end of the day we just want to go to sleep. I make it a point to read a chapter every single night because that has been my commitment to God since 2015. It can be hard reading every book of the Bible because let's just be honest, some books can be boring. It is so important to read God's word. A lot of people do not realize that the Bible has literally everything in it. If you've been through it, it is in the Bible. You have to dig deep into the stories to get what you are looking for, but it is there. I tend to read the book of Psalms multiple times. It is one of my favorite books in the Bible. David is crying out to God and asking Him questions and that just shows that people in the Bible go through struggles like we do. God wants us to call out to Him. He wants to help and heal you, so let Him.
It's one thing for me to just say we need to read our Bible more, so I will just point out some scriptures where God tells us to. Joshua 1:8 says, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success". Romans 10:17 says, "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ". Romans 15:4 says, "For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope". The Bible has the instructions for our life. That is so important. Proverbs 2:6 says, "For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding". By reading the Bible, we will gain the wisdom and understanding that God wants us to hear. The Bible gives us so much insight of God and what He wants for our lives.
We can learn so much from the Bible. Make a commitment to yourself to read it every day. It will definitely help you grow in your walk with God. Through His word, we gain understanding in and through all things. We take the Bible for granted. It is important we read it as much as we can. It has all the answers we are searching for, just written differently. If you ever wonder why God hasn't answered a prayer for you, just search verses that relate to what you are going through. God can speak to you through His word. He has definitely spoken to me several times when I read certain passages. God's word is powerful, active, and true.
