After my completion of Harry Potter: The Sorcerer's Stone, I have a few things to say.
I don't regret starting a 10.99/month Kindle membership for this.
Even if I don't pick up another book via this service, this was way worth the money to read. At least for this month.
I'm glad I finally GET all of the pop culture references and, honestly, it now gets me a little excited hearing someone reference the magical Hogwarts. I don't care what anyone says. "Getting" pop culture references is very useful, and there's a reason why they are around.
It's kind of funny how all of us can find a bit of ourselves in Harry Potter, and look up to Dumbledore, even though they're, sadly, fictional.
Being able to start a series, knowing how wildly successful it is, makes me excited to see exactly what made people all around the world come together to enjoy it.
There's a good equalization of light and dark in the books. The underdog will usually prevail with hard work, but there will never be a 'best' side.
You don't have to be the best at magic, or life, to be the main character.
And, also, the main character isn't the only force pushing the world forward.
I wish I had read this a bit earlier in life...
And I'm sure we all kind of hope a little bit in our hearts for there to be a place like Hogwarts, to give us a direction in our lives.
