Here are six reasons you should put down the remote and pick up a book.
1. Gaining satisfaction when you're the only friend who has read the book and everyone has to ask you questions.
Something about it just makes you feel smarter.
2. Reading a book can help fill in the blanks when the movies forgets to add something or adds something that never happened.
For example, in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," they added Weasley's house burning down, which made no sense and annoyed a ton of people.
3. The real endings can sometimes be changed in the movie, leaving the audience totally confused.
We all remember "My Sister's Keeper," where the sister with cancer actually died...most frustrating ending.
4. The books always gets you hyped for the movie.
Who didn't go the "Harry Potter," "Hunger Games" and "Twilight" midnight premieres? Okay, maybe not "Twilight," but the others? Duh.
5. Reading the book gives you those little details the movie always misses because they're too small to matter.
You always want to know what certain characters are really like.
6. Shockingly, the book can be a more condensed version of the movie.
Did "The Hobbit" really need to be three movies? Really?
