Always...
After the tragic news of Alan Rickman's death, this past Thursday, Jan. 14, 2014, his "Harry Potter" stars used social media to react and pay tribute to the beloved actor. Daniel Radcliff, known as quite the social hermit and introvert, posted an emotional letter on his Google Plus page that highlighted how amazing the actor truly was, compared to his offsetting character.
As this tribute blew up on social media, so did the other "Harry Potter" stars'. Author J.K. Rowling tweeted, "There are no words to express how shocked and devastated I am to hear of Alan Rickman's death. He was a magnificent actor & a wonderful man. My thoughts are with Rima and the rest of Alan's family. We have all lost a great talent. They have lost a part of their hearts."
The more popular Weasley kids made some heartfelt statements to E! News.
Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley, said, "I am devastated to hear about the passing of Alan Rickman. I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to work with him on numerous occasions. Even though he has gone, I will always hear his voice. My thoughts are with his friends and family at this time."
Emma Waston took to her Facebook account, but unlike the others received some backlash after a few tribute posts.
Later on Twitter, Waston highlighted Rickman's feminist pride by sharing a quote from an interview he once gave, "There is nothing wrong with a man being a feminist, I think it is to our mutual advantage."
Instead of overwhelming support for the friends and family of Rickman, fans took a more intense and harsh side, accusing Waston of exploiting his death to promote her own "feminist agenda."
Although Rickman often spoke of women in film and gender equality in some interviews, the negative voices tweet on.
"I always think a feminist just means common sense, Do I live in a world and certainly a business that is incredibly unfair to women? Yes, I do," Rickman told Entertainment Weekly last year.
Whether you loved him in "Die Hard" or hated him as Snape, Rickman's death was a tragic and unexpected loss to the world of witchcraft and wizardry. You will be dearly missed, and never forgotten.
