Young or old, almost everyone has seen "Friends." If not, I'm sure friends or family members have made references to it in passing without them noticing. Since most college students waste most of their days on Netflix, I'm sure many of them know who Rachel Green is and maybe have even found some similarities between themselves and Rachel. Here are a few that I've noticed:
1. In college, Rachel pledged the sorority Kappa Kappa Delta.
I don't think Kappa Kappa Delta is a real social sorority, but it is a local service fraternity founded in 1987 at Trinity University.
According to Niche, 43 percent of female students are involved in Greek life nationwide. I know this isn't the majority of female students, but it does represent a large portion of them. After all, the point of joining a sorority is to meet new people, and I'm pretty sure everyone (male and female) is involved in some type of college organization in order to meet new people.
2. Most of us have no clue how to act around kids.
While I've never sang "Baby Got Back" to a kid, I remember having that look of sheer terror whenever someone handed me a baby.
3. We've all done stupid things to impress that ONE guy.
Remember in season four when Rachel did all those stupid things to "seduce" Joshua? Yeah, I'm sure we've all done things just as stupid to get the attention of a guy.
4. We all have that one guy in our life that we would go back to in a heartbeat.
Don't fight it, we all need a Ross in our lives!
5. Many of us also have a Barry in our lives.
It doesn't matter how much money he has—don't go back to him. Wouldn't you rather be a Rachel than a Mandy?
6. She is definitely not a morning person.
I can only function in my afternoon classes, so don't talk to me before them.
8. She fights with her friends, too!
Fighting with your friends is inevitable, especially if you live with them and have to be around them 24/7.
7. Rachel made some stupid decisions.
It's gotten to the point where I can't even let myself order food online. Somehow, I spent $300 in a week all on food.
9. Laundry?
Let's get real here: do any of us actually know how to do laundry?
10. The Mystery of Life
If things in life are even unpredictable for Rachel, how do you expect everything to go smoothly in yours? All we can do is go along with it and hope for the best.
11. Lastly, live life the way Rachel did, and you might just end up in Paris.
Carpe diem.
