It's nearing the end of the semester, so naturally this is the point when everyone starts to break down and stress out. Instead of turning your hair grey, take a moment to breathe in and out and put some perspective into your day.

Sometimes it is better to listen than to speak. Learn to tell the difference between the two before you say something you regret. When exams, projects and final grades start clouding your mind, it is easy to get frustrated with people.

Don’t waste your time comparing yourself to others. Just because your friend gets an A on an exam doesn’t mean that you can’t be excited about the B that you got on your final after weeks of studying. Everyone has his or her own strengths and talents, which is what makes us all so unique and interesting. Once you accept the fact that you (and everyone else on the planet) is imperfect, life becomes a little less daunting.

College is not easy; that doesn’t come as a big surprise. It’s not just exams you have to worry about, but everything in between. When you feel like giving up or feel like life is treating you unfairly, stop and reflect on all the goodness in your life and the blessings that you most likely take for granted every day.

Too many opportunities are wasted because of the fear of being wrong or embarrassing ourselves along the way. The most meaningful experiences happen when you push yourself into experiences where you are able to grow and learn. So apply for that job, join that club, or talk to the person sitting next to you on the bus. You have nothing to lose.

This is my favorite quote because of the pure truth behind the words. At the end of the day it only matters how you treat others and yourself. You can be the most qualified, successful person on paper, but the way you treat people speaks volumes more than your GPA.

The happiest people are those who know themselves and where they want to go. You may not know exactly who you are yet, but that's OK. College is a time to figure out who you are, so be sure to listen to yourself and not let anyone influence who you truly are.
