Everyone has their favorite quote(s). It could be from James Dean, MLK Jr., Abraham Lincoln or your favorite TV show or movie.
Now think of your favorite quote. Who is if from? What does it say? How does it impact your life?
I was in my anatomy class my junior year of high school. We were learning about the respiratory system, and as my teacher was talking about EKG scans, he stopped everything and told us a quote that has changed my life since he said it.
Every time I am down on myself or feel like I have hit rock bottom, I remember this quote. And every time, it brings me back up.
When my friends are down on themselves, feel lost and alone, and don’t know what else to do, I tell them this quote.
“Life is like an EKG scan, you have to have ups and downs, because if there was a flat line, there is no life.” –Dr. Bob (my teacher)
This still sends a chill down my spine. As simple and innocent as this sounds, and how I was just in science class in high school, this moment was pivotal to my life.
Ever since, when I go through a hard time, or something bad happens to me, or someone else, I tell myself this, and it shows me the light at the end of the tunnel assuring me that hard times will end soon and that you will overcome.
I cannot emphasize enough that you always get what you least expect in life. I never thought my life would change in my junior year science class.
Keep an open mind, and listen to all the advice given to you, because you’ll never know if it will change your life one day.
I know after this, my life was changed.
