My Quarantine Life Savers

This much social isolation causes us to think of creative ways to pass our time!

While being in quarantine due to the COVID-19 virus that has been spreading rapidly across the globe, I have had to rely on many of these things to entertain myself. Many of us are struggling to find things to do during this time of social isolation. I think it is a great time to pick up a new hobby or have some well-needed rest time. We all could use some quarantine life savers!

1. Netflix.

I think everyone can agree with me that even before the quarantine, Netflix was always our life saver. The amount of movies and TV shows to binge watch in unmatched. When winding down and trying to relax, playing a movie or your favorite TV show will be just what you need. I think we all can also admit that there have been days that have consisted of countless hours of back-to-back movies and falling asleep on your couch. Why not embrace those days?

2. Quarantine Buddies.

Who you choose to spend your quarantine with is VITAL to how your quarantine will go. I always suggest your immediate family, giving you guys some time together. However, if you choose your friends, it might give you a chance to catch up and make more memories together. Spending that much time with the same people causes us to go a little crazy, but these are the best moments. Take advantage of this time with them and trust me the delusional moments cause the funniest memories.

3. The Sun.

Living in South Florida, the sun is my best friend. Especially when moving to Tallahassee, I miss the heat. The weather has been absolutely beautiful during this time (of course when the beaches are closed), but that doesn't mean we can not get some time in the sun. I like going in my backyard and laying out and some of us lucky ones have pools in our backyards as well. Take the time to get your tan on and relax by the pool, I promise it will be worth it!

4. White Claws.

They are right when they say, "there ain't no laws"! I think with everything going on, everyone deserves a drink. White claws have been my best friend while tanning outside or spending nights in with my family. This can turn into a night of playing games with family or a day out by the pool. Either way, kicking back with a White Claw can turn your whole mood around.

5. Crafting.

Everyone I know has taken up a hobby. My mom and I love going into her office/craft room and bringing out whatever project we want to tackle that day. We color, do calligraphy, and have been trying to work her new Cricket in order to make some really cool stickers/shirts! I highly recommend picking up on a new hobby during this quarantine. This can be something to do with your family or something that can finally give you some alone time. You never know, maybe even try something new!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
