Put Some Respekk On It!

If you missed out on the hilarious two minutes of comedic ignorance that was Birdman’s Breakfast Club interview, don’t worry that’s what I am here for. This is just another instance that shows how celebrities have little room for error due to the ubiquitous viral nature of the internet and social media. Nowadays if someone like Drake just simply farts too loudly there’s going to be a video posted about it instantly and before the end of the day social media will be overrun with memes ruthlessly ridiculing him. Anyone who has been on social media this weekend has had to of seen memes, heard quotes, or at least heard of his ridiculous and pathetic excuse for an interview. If you still are not aware of what transpires in the video, click the hyperlink, then sit back, relax, and enjoy the video along with my commentary which will point out all of the subtleties that make this fiasco so ridiculous.

The video starts off with Birdman stating to DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlemagne prior to the interview “Imma tell all ‘tree’ of y'all right now quit playing with my fucking name”. It’s normal for a Jamaican or some other foreigner to pronounce three the way he did, hell I had a Brazilian teacher that would always say ‘teory’ instead of ‘theory’. Why he chose to say ‘tree’ I will never know, but I know it adds another reason to make fun of Birdman.

Birdman’s repetitiveness throughout this video is comical because he sounds like a broken record of pure uneducated ignorance. He tells the Breakfast Club three times “stop playing with my fucking name” and following that by saying “ I aint guna tell yall no mo” Then he proceeds to repeat the same thing twice more literally right after saying he wouldn’t tell them anymore!!

It's like Birdman thought he was talking to a dog, constantly repeating himself hoping the dog will comprehend. Newsflash Birdman, these people are actually educated, no need to repeat yourself five times especially after telling them you wouldn't say it anymore.

After Birdman cusses them out, the Breakfast Club proceeds to go on air, and Charlemagne asks Birdman to get off his chest whatever it is that’s bothering him. Instead of responding like an adult and elaborating his concerns, he responds like a pouty three year old saying *under his breath* “I said it already I don’t want to talk no more”. Which begs the question what the hell are you still sitting there for if you don’t want to talk no more? To make things more confusing he repeatedly tells Charlemagne, “I’m here man so what’s happening?” I’m not sure if Birdman understood this but he was supposed to be there for an interview, that’s what’s happening. It's unclear what he expected Charlemagne to say when he asked this. One thing is clear though, Birdman has some real communication issues. When Charlemagne asks him what the issue he responds by saying “aint no issue cuz if there was an issue you woulda felt it”. So basically Birdman is out there making a fool of himself cussing out these radio hosts but there is no issue at all? Just another example of Birdmans level of intelligence, which so far in this interview resembles that of a two year old dog.

If Birdman really didn’t want to talk anymore he should have left before going on air to avoid the embarrassment he brings upon himself. Of course he stays though, to deliver the highlight of the whole interview, when he repeatedly tells Charlemagne to put some “respek” on his name. “When my name come up put some respek on it aight…put some respek on it!” he says. The way he makes “respect” sounds like it’s a topping for food prompts the internet to immortalize this quote in memes and shirts, not even 24 hours after this video comes out.

After Charlemagne continues to question why Birdman is trying to act hard with the radio hosts, “Why aint you pull up on Ross like this?” he asks. Birdman proceeds to deflect his valid question saying “I’m pulling up on you nigga!!” uhmmm we all can see that you’re “pullin up” on Charlemagne but we’re wondering if you’re so ‘gangsta’ why are you getting hard with a radio host and not the rappers calling you out? I have no idea what Birdman was trying to do going this route, maybe he was just trying to pull the "respekk" card?

Clearly frustrated by the logic being thrown at him, possessing no logic himself of course, Birdman ends this “interview” with a blooper reel type gem of ignorance that is the cherry on top of this sundae of ignorance. After offering nothing intelligent to say his last words, a circular ultimatum, perfectly personify the level of intelligence he exuded throughout the interview ”Are yall finished or are yall done because I aint got no more talk.”

*proceeds to awkwardly storm out as he has to slowly shuffle in between chairs* Not only was did he give one of the worst interviews of all time, he arguably has one of the worst storm outs of all time as well. Birdman just takes a loss every way possible in this video and it would be kind of sad if it just wasn’t so damn funny, and to make mattes worse, his cartoonish dialogue is only made funnier by his cartoonish appearance.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
