Every fall, there is an outbreak that haunts the nation, and it's called Pumpkin Spice. It consumes the lives of a good 85 percent of the population of the United States, and it's spreading world-wide.
It has manifested itself so deeply into the autumn lifestyles of teenagers, college gals, and housewives, that it's practically an epidemic in the year 2015.So how do you know if this plague has reached you? Scroll a little
further and take a look at this handy list. If you've consumed or used any of
these foods or products, you could very well have already been overcome by this
powerfully orange, cinnamon-blasted plague.
1. Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Ah, where it all began. The most common and most popular form of Pumpkin Spice. Some try it once, and don't find it too enthralling, myself included. Others have one taste of their Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte with whip, and it's love at first sip (or chug, if you're already addicted). There's just something about that artificial, liquefied pumpkin topped with cinnamon whose shelf life is longer than most of us have lived, that just makes it so worth paying $5 a cup.
2. Pumpkin Spice Air Freshener.
What's better than drinking Pumpkin Spice? Inhaling it. If your home smells anything like this, be careful. When the senses are constantly confronted with Pumpkin Spice, it's easy to become dependent on it.
3. Pumpkin Spice Oreos.
Nabisco has never failed to cater to every season or holiday with their vast assortment of Oreos. Be forewarned, your taste buds can be easily tricked into thinking that it's OK to eat the whole package.
4. Pumpkin Spice Chobani Greek Yogurt.
This epidemic has infiltrated society so vastly, that every type of citizen can be affected. Even health-nuts have hopped on the Pumpkin Spice train. I don't know how to feel about pumpkin flavored yogurt.
5. Pumpkin Spice Apparel.
If Pumpkin Spice influences your fashion choices, seek help immediately.
6. Pumpkin Spice Pets.
Yes, this is adorable. No, it is not acceptable.
7. Pumpkin Spice Fragrances.
Don't be deceived. Just because it isn't titled "Pumpkin Spice," doesn't mean it isn't as addictive as the real thing. If you must be drenched in Pumpkin Spice all day long, you are at high risk for some withdrawal symptoms once this season is over.
Have you or a friend become a victim of this horrible epidemic? If so, don't despair. It will all be over soon. Come December, we can review some tips and tricks for avoiding the Peppermint Mocha plague.
