As we all know, writing is hard.
While it's hard and a lot of the time it's the biggest pain, it is also one of the most rewarding things that you can do. And while it's something that we don't all do, it's important to take notice of the hard work that writers put into their craft for readers to enjoy.
I may have a personal bias because I know how difficult writing can be, but knowing that other people are actually reading my work is something that I absolutely adore...which got me thinking, there's a few cool magazines that put out some awesome content that not many people know about.
Of course, some people might, but do they know these publications are in our backyard?
So, I've opted to share a few of my favorite publications in the hopes that someone reading this will check it out and see that Cleveland has some pretty amazing publications! So, without further ado, check out some of the best publications Cleveland has to offer below!
1. Cleveland Scene
Looking for cool things to do in Cleveland can seem like quite the chore, but Cleveland Scene makes that seem like nothing! The magazine centers on more alternative activities for the "cool kids" of the area. So, whether you want to find out about a cool local band or seeing any special events, this publication is sure to give you some cool new things to check out!

2. Substream
Much like a later entry to this article (Altpress), Substream is a music publication that's home to a lot of alternative, punk, metal and indie acts! The magazine covers a bunch of small bands, while also noting what the bigger ones are doing in the scene.

3. Cleveland Magazine
Cleveland Magazine is another city-centric paper, but much like Scene, it covers the more entertainment-y and food side of Cleveland. Whether you're looking for the best date night place to go to or just things to do in the area, Cleveland Magazine is the one for you!

If you're into the alternative and punk scene, you'll be happy to know that Cleveland is home to one of the biggest and best music publications that the genre has to offer! Alternative Press is your go-to publication for all things, well, alternative.
