Although not everybody wears them, glasses are a major part of life to those who have them. Some people see glasses are a necessary evil, and others see them as a fun and necessary accessory. There are always times where glasses make life just a little bit harder, but that doesn't mean they're all bad.

1. Smudges and/or scratches.

No matter how many times you clean them, there's always smudges and/or scratches in your field of vision. No matter what you do, smudges and smears somehow appear on our glasses. This leads to constant cleaning of your glasses, which either make the marks less visible, or make them spread more across the lens. If you're a clumsy person (some-what like myself) chances are you'll drop your glasses a few times, earning a few scrapes to your lenses. (Those won't be as easy to get rid of.)

2. Cute outfits.

Glasses can make just about any outfit cuter. Wanna wear sweat pants and jackets for lazy days? Cute sweaters and skirts? Casual T-shirt and jeans? Add glasses for a more endearing look.

3. 3D movie inconveniences.

Everyone knows the classic glasses-on-glasses scenario when it comes to 3D movies. Unless you have contacts or plan on not clearly seeing the movie, you'll have to double up on the glasses for a few hours.

4. Built in sunglasses.

You won't ever have to worry about packing sunglasses for a sun-filled vacation or for a day at the park if you have transition lenses. One step into a bright setting and you won't be bothered by the sun's blinding rays. You won't have to save up to buy over-priced sunglasses, and you won't need to wear two pairs of glasses (as previously mentioned in the movie scenario).

5. Losing them or forgetting them.

I've personally never had the problem of losing or forgetting my glasses somewhere, but I know many people that have. How can you possibly find the thing that helps you see when you can't even see while looking for it? It's one of those situations where the universe probably isn't on your side.

6. Looking sophisticated.

Glasses tend to give people the impression that you're a highly intelligent person. I myself am not sure why, but for as long as I've known, glasses create the idea that the person wearing them is a knowledgeable being. Although they may not be as smart as others may think, it's usually never a bad thing for others to see you as being a smart person. You never know, you might feel smarter, and you also might gain more self-confidence while wearing glasses.

Big, small, thin, thick, wide, or narrow, glasses are glasses. Whether you chose to wear them, wear contacts, or don't wear them at all, glasses aren't as bad as others may say they are. They aren't always a walk in the part, and some people who wear them might even despise them. Glasses were intended to help others improve their vision, whether you chose to use them of not is up to you, but if the only thing stopping you from wearing them is not wanting to deal with minor problems or being self-conscious, glasses aren't as big of a deal as people may make them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
