Pros And Cons Of Being A Shorty

My entire life I have always been the shortest. Not just like, "okay she's short," but like "wow, that girl is tiny." When I was younger I used to hate my height, but the older I've gotten the more I've learned to love and embrace my shortness. There are definitely both good and bad things about being short, and I've had to live with the pros and cons my entire life.

Pros:

1. Always getting to be in front

"All short people in the front!" Personally, I love being front and center. It's really awesome when you get to be in the front row for events and stuff, but if you don't like being in the front row for photos like I do, maybe you should wear heels that day.

2. Being called cute

Come on, who doesn't love being called cute?! Even if you're in sweatpants and a t-shirt, your height will always keep you staying cute.

3. Not worried about hitting your head

Unless you're in some sort of clown house or somewhere with extremely low ceilings, you'll never have to worry about banging your head or even ducking for that matter.

4. Being able to wear heels

If you want to be taller for the day, there are so many options of heels you can wear! Wedges, pumps, and even platform sneakers.

5. Always having leg room

You never have to worry about what seat you get or pay extra for first class, you'll have plenty of room wherever you sit!

Cons:

1. People constantly questioning your age

No sir, I'm actually a senior in college, not high school. But even though I'm 21 I still would like a kid's menu.

2. Randomly being picked up

Unless I tell you otherwise, please don't touch me.

3. Not being able to reach anything

If there's no way of climbing up, you just have to suck up your pride and ask someone for help.

4. Clothes not fitting right

If those jeans you're looking at don't come in short, be prepared to trip over them.

5. Getting lost in crowds

Not only is it bad enough that your head is in everyone's chest, if you get lost in a crowd of people then you better just stop in your tracks and start praying that you don't get trampled.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
