When I first started college, online classes did not seem appealing. I figured without class time I would forget, or blow it off, or not properly learn the information. However, now that I'm a semester away from being a senior, I've found that online is the method for me.
Why it Works
Online classes offer a completely different learning environment from the classroom. Instead of zoning out in a lecture hall, I'm actively reading and actually learning what I'm supposed to. I actively teach myself the content instead of copying down and memorizing slides before the next test, and end up gaining a lot more knowledge than I would with the traditional learning style.
Why it Might Not Work
Because there are no class times, it can be easy to forget assignments and due dates. If professors aren't into sending constant reminder emails, one or more assignments can easily slip through the cracks to the point where your grade can seriously suffer. It's really a matter of whether or not you're the kind of person who can hold yourself accountable, stay self-motivated, and not let small deadlines slip through the cracks.
So, if you hate going to class but don't hate learning, and you want to indulge a new method of doing so, give online classes a try.
