Being and only child pros and cons

As you guess by this title, it's about being an only child. There are many things that I like about being an only child but there are times where I wish I had a sibling or siblings. So here is a list of pros and cons.

Pros

  1. During Christmas, I would always get a lot of gifts
  2. I would always get what I want
  3. I would not have to deal with fighting with a sibling
  4. My parents couldn’t say they had a favorite child
  5. I did not have to share a room, I always had my own
  6. I did not have to live up to expectations of an older sibling

Cons

  1. I would get jealous of people who had someone to grow up with
  2. I did not get to experience a sibling bond
  3. I had to figure out everything on my own, I couldn’t ask anyone for help with things
  4. I could never be a role model for anyone younger than me
  5. There was time where I would be lonely and had no one to talk to
  6. I could never say this is my brother or sister

Being an only child really has had its ups and downs, but I am glad I am an only child. There are times were I wish I had a sibling to rely on and ask for help with homework or be the one where a younger sibling can ask me for help or give them advice, I never got to experience that. Would I change being an only child no, but there have been times in the past and present that I have wished that I had a sibling. I may not have any siblings, but I do have three cousins who I am really close with and consider them my sisters, so in the end, it all worked out.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
