Pros And Cons To Summer Classes

I used to think that I would never take summer classes unless I was studying abroad. Somehow I ended up choosing the one program that encompasses both classes on campus and travel abroad for this summer.

The first half of my trip is research based between my college town of Statesboro, Georgia and Savannah. The second half is more research in Ireland, but just within my first week I have learned that there are more pros to taking summer classes than I had thought.

Cons to Taking Summer Classes:

1. You have homework over the summer.

2. Summer Reading.

3. You have to walk to class in the heat.

4. You don't always get to sleep in.

5. You will have homework every night.

6. Classes are more than 55 minutes.

7. And you go to the same classes every day.

In the long run, these cons really aren't that bad. You get used to the longer classes and having homework every night. It keeps you busy, especially if you're staying in town because of a 12 month lease. I've learned that there are many more pros tHan there are cons when it comes to taking summer classes.

Pros to taking summer classes:

1. The semester is only four weeks long.

2. You stay busy and don't get as bored.

3. You have smaller class sizes.

4. So you can make friends a little easier.

5. It's a chance to bring up your GPA if you need it.

6. You don't have to take a full course load.

7. It can get you closer to graduation.

8. Or it can save you from that fifth year victory lap.

9. If you take summer classes, you can take smaller course loads in Fall and Spring.

10. You can develop better relationships with professors.

11. You don't have to take classes all summer long.

12. It's not as hard to get back into the groove of going to class after summer ends.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
