Have you ever found yourself in a conversation with someone whose opinions are much stronger than yours? Everyone has their own interests and political views, some just voice their opinions louder than others. Being uneducated in politics is not necessarily a good or a bad thing.

Pros

You can avoid the heated family conversations debating over whose opinions are right and whose are wrong. Politics really spark special feelings with some people and it is easier to just avoid the topic all together when you don't have much to say on it. You don't get defensive when you hear someone speak their opinion, while some people really take others' opinions to heart and can get incredibly defensive when having a conversation with those who don't have the same views. The last huge pro of being uneducated is that there is always more information for you to discover, with room and time for you to form your own opinion based on what you learn, rather than what others are telling you to believe.

Cons

Being uneducated on politics is not always the best trait. You should be informed on who is running our country and how they are doing it. With an election coming up, you should take the time to learn about the candidates and their future goals and plans for your home. A huge con of being uneducated on politics is that you do not know what is and is not true from what people are telling you. You can be easily influenced because you do not know any better.

You should feel confident when you express your opinion, no matter what it is about. When talking about politics in particular, make sure you are well educated first. It is easy to offend someone, especially when you are talking about something you really don't know much about. If you are not interested in educating yourself on them, that is your right and your own decision. Do not base your views off of what your friends, family, or significant other think. Yes, you love them, but you do not have to agree on everything, especially on how you think your country and home should be run.
