I have come to the realization that I am not content with the current state of the lollipop. You finish the delicious candy but then are left with the disgusting, pathetic, and sad stick that once held your sugary treat.
What do we do with this stick we are left with? Do we continue to suck on it until bits start to fall off into our mouths? Or do we throw the stick away like a good citizen? What happens when the stick is thrown on the ground and forgotten by some sick ne'er-do-well? What ecological impact does this stick have on our lush and thriving ecosystem?
I propose we force the lollipop industry to create a sugary sweet treat that will hold our other sweet treat on top. This will pave the way for the stick sleeve industry to boom. The increase for the need of the stick sleeve will demand a higher workforce to produce more sleeves because let's face it, you wouldn't want your hands getting all sticky and gross from the candy stick.
I will not eat another lollipop until the stick becomes edible and I encourage other like-minded individuals to do the same.
