How many times have you been out with friends and wondered where a specific restaurant or store was? Chances are, this has happened more than once. Introduced on the iPhone 4S, Siri can assist you with a vast amount of tasks, all with one simple push of a button. As an owner of the iPhone 4S, I find that Siri is beneficial not only to teens, but also to busy, working adults.
For many teens, Siri is a tool for helping with homework or finding a location. For example, while I was reading a book for my English class, I came across a word I didn’t know; I picked up my phone and asked Siri. While I could have opened a dictionary, Siri saved me some time.
After I finished my book, my mom took me out for some frozen yogurt. We didn’t know where the nearest Yogurtland was, so I asked Siri. She not only told me where the nearest Yogurtland was, but she also got us directions.
Siri is not just something that kids can enjoy; adults can too. Siri does not just give you directions; she can also tell you the traffic. Say you’re running late for an interview. Siri can help by telling you what traffic looks like on certain routes. Siri helps make sure that you get to your destination on time.
Let's say that you have a business trip in another state, or even another country. Will the weather be hot, or will it be cold? Just ask Siri: she not only tells you the current temperature, but also the highs and lows of the five day forecast.
While some people argue that Siri encourages students to be lazy, I think this accusation is false. Siri serves as a tool of efficiency to facilitate completion of homework assignments. Overall, I find that Siri can be beneficial to people of all ages. She helps solve problems we encounter in everyday life.
