Why Pro-Life Is A Con

Abortion is a great thing, and we should appreciate its existence.

Pro-life is most ridiculous standpoint anyone on this earth can have. Women always deserve the right to choose whether or not they want to terminate a pregnancy.

Of course, there are the obvious reasons for abortions. If someone gets pregnant from a rape they have the right to not want that child. Some women are incapable of giving birth, as they have various medical issues that prevent them from surviving the pregnancy. Abortion is an option for these women, and for others too.

Believe it or not, a child has a hefty price tag on it and not everyone is prepared to raise one. I am not evaluating the concept of children purely on wealth, I do feel that children are a blessing and raising them is a beautiful experience. However, I want to have children in my own time when I am financially stable and able to give that child the best life possible. Abortion gives me this ability to choose the life I want for my child.

Children are also a pretty huge responsibility. Abortion comes in handy, especially in young pregnancies. I'm sure we all remember our younger days. You know, the days where Chad was just sooo hot and using a condom was just sooo uncool. Young adults do not comprehend the consequences that come along with their actions, so they do not consider the possibility of pregnancy or the chances of them having to raise a child for the next 18 years.

Also, men who are pro-life do not really have the right to have this opinion. Men are not as tethered to the child as the women are. They do not have to carry this little human being in their wombs for 9 months. They do not have to go through the excruciating pain of childbirth. They do no have to experience extreme hormones, mood swings, and weight gain that comes with pregnancy. They don't really even have to stick around once the child is conceived. All men do is shoot their little men into us and their job is done.

The pro-lifers are always so quick to deface the idea of abortion, yet they never talk about the amount of work and responsibility that goes into having a child. They are not pro-life, they are pro-birth. They just fight for the child to be born and do not care about what happens afterward. If you did not know this already, most pro-life people are a part of the Republican/conservative party. This is a group of people who also frequently disapprove of the United States welfare system. What they can't seem to put together, is the fact that all those who are unprepared for children are likely to try and receive help from welfare. They are quite obviously contradicting their own beliefs.

So the point I am trying to make is that abortion is a GOOD thing and we should all learn to appreciate it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
