Prince Rogers Nelson, commonly known as Prince, has left a massive mark on the world of dance music in a unique and innovative way. He was an artist that used all materials he was given and experimented all avenues out there. His musical style encompassed may different musical genres, such as rock, pop, soul, psychedelic, new wave and funk.
In the world of creating pop music, Prince worked tirelessly experimentally with new sounds and the electronic music style. Drum machines became incredibly crucial in making innovative sounds and style for Prince. Embracing drum machines and synth’s so much it led it him to creating one of his iconic albums “1999” which from that point on he kept exploring the electronic style for future albums. Using the Linn LM-1 drum machine Prince created his own sounds with the Linn and they can be heard in popular classics such as “Lets Go Crazy” and “When Doves Cry."
