100 days to graduation just passed this Friday, and as a senior that is both exciting and incredibly terrifying. It’s exciting because as seniors we are finally graduating college. Whether or not some of us are going on to more education or right to a job, we are finishing up those four years we had been preparing for since high school. We are finally graduating after years of preparation. These four years that will have hopefully set up the rest of our lives are coming to an end. Exciting and scary.
100 days to graduation, we have almost made it. I’m sure most of our parents are counting down the days with just as much excitement. Planning graduation parties or scheduling flights to come to the graduation ceremony. This is almost as much their day as it is ours whether we think so or not. They pushed us to succeed with all those late nights they helped us with our homework. This will be a proud moment for them to see their kid walk across that stage.
100 days to graduations means it’s almost time to say goodbye to your friends as you part ways. To look back on all the fun memories you’ve made during these four years. From the midnight study sessions to late night walks to McDonald's, the times you and your friends turned up the radio and sang at the top of your lungs or splashed around in the fountain on campus. These memories you know you’ll cherish forever with the people who have seen you grow and change over four years. Many people say that college is the best four years of your life, and in these four years you will make friends that last a lifetime.
100 days to graduation marks the completion of school for a lot of people. No more math, no more science, no more English or history; you’re done. Now it’s time to dive into the real world, and be a real adult. We are now going out into the world on our own, and it is very intimidating. Will we succeed in whatever we do? Will we make everyone proud? Has college prepared me enough for what’s to come? Exciting and scary.
Take this marking of 100 days to graduation as the excitement that it is over all. Let these last days be filled with adventure and fun. Make more memories, and get excited for what’s to come in the future. Congrats, seniors.
