When it comes to preparing for graduation no one is ever really ready. It approaches us faster than we are expecting it would. For some of us, we graduate in May and some graduate in December. Everyone has different ways to prepare for important events. For me, it’s not easy.

Graduation is approaching me faster and faster every day, I will be a senior this next semester and I am the least bit ready to graduate or to begin thinking about having to apply for jobs, doing my senior project, and every other little detail to make becoming an adult come true.

May of 2019, I will be graduating from Coastal Carolina University and I couldn’t be happier. I have made a lot of wonderful friends and idols I look up to. College teaches us more than what we need for our future careers, it teaches life skills, people skills, and many other wonderful things but I will never fully be ready to leave.

There is a huge list of things to actually prepare for when graduation is approaching but everyone’s list will be different from one another. Some will be longer and some will be shorter but everyone will experience stress along the way. No matter how prepared or how ready we are, stress will make its way to the mix.

Some steps to help you get ready to graduate are...

1. Start making a resume and cover letter (If you don’t have one

already)

2. Begin to send future employers resume

3. Buy an interview outfit for future job interviews

4. Apply to graduate school (If planning on furthering education after graduation)

5. Figure out and finalize plans for after graduation (Living and Jobs)

This list could go on and on to help physically prepare for graduation. But when it comes to mentally preparing, are there actually ways to be 100% ready? No. This is a huge step in life that everyone is excited and sad about all at once. But everyone will make it through it, no matter how stressed out we get.

It will be one of the best days of your life. It’s the beginning of a life we have been always been waiting for… (No more school). I hope that after reading my article you will see graduation can be scary, but you can do it. You’re beyond ready to make this step and will do great. These college memories will be with you forever, so make the best of your last months before graduation even if it can become stressful.

And the last of it all, congratulations you’ve made it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
