Taking on the pre-medical track as an undergraduate is daunting, to say the least. It is a path of requirements, research, internships, stress, organic chemistry, stress, applying to med school, stress, MKAT, STRESS. Not to mention dealing with other obnoxious humans that feel the need to make uninformed comments such as...
1."She/he is majoring in pre-med."
Pre-med. Is. Not. A. Major. It's a list of requirements for medical school. WE AREN'T MAJORING IN PRE-MED THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE GRAMMATICALLY.
2."Wow that is so many requirements."
Yes, we know. We're the ones doing it, remember? But thanks for reminding us of the many courses we must take for our so called "major". (see 1)
3."So are you in it for the money?
Are you really asking this to an undergraduate currently looking at years of student loans? Really?
4."That is so hard."
WE KNOW.
5."She/he is majoring in bio something or another."
Not all pre-meds major in some form of science. Many decide to study the humanities. It isn’t just me. IT ISN’T.
6."Good luck in orgo."
Yes, we have to take organic chemistry. But we will do well, with or without your mocking good lucks.
7.”Lol you actually have to watch your GPA in college."
YEAH, IT'S HILARIOUS.
8."So are you doing this for your parents?"
Some of us actually want to be doctors and take all these classes and YES be more stressed because it's worth it.
9.”Do you want to be like those doctors on hospital TV dramas?"
No…maybe…whatever.
