The Practice of Kindness.

What you cast can come back to haunt or heal you.

The Practice of Kindness.

You have to make the choice. No one wants to get hurt, but when someone is not acting in accordance with their integrity or the greater good of all involved, then the forces of doubt, manipulation and fear can take over in a very DISGRACEFUL way!

When you find yourself in the midst of an unpleasant place in your life, the best thing to do is get a second opinion from a trusted source, whether it be a friend, co-worker, or even a spiritual guide who might be helpful and helpful. you determine the next step to take.

When you are kind to yourself while being kind to others, healthy balance can be found for you; the empathetic soul. How wonderful if we all spoke to each other out of kindness and did random acts of kindness as part of our spiritual practice.

Have you ever done a kindness meditation for yourself? If you haven't, here's how you do it... Find a place that's safe for you to sit or lie down and allow yourself at least 15 minutes to have a space just for you to find your center and relax your mind as you focus in your breath.

In this very scary space that you are creating for yourself, give yourself a few minutes to calm down and let all your thoughts and movies that you see in your mind float down a very calm and relaxing river... see the river in your mind, don't worry, it's there, maybe you can hear it... or maybe you remember a river you visited in the past.

As you are getting more and more relaxed, I want you to revisit a time when someone did an act of kindness for you. As you remember this act, I want you to remember how you felt about this kindness. Did you feel surprised? Have you been humiliated?

Did you receive this kindness and take on the feeling in which it was given? This is how you accommodate the emotional sense of giving and receiving into your memory banks of kindness...your mental and physical body needs to record these acts so that you can return the favor in kind to others.

Remember that the plant and animal kingdoms respond to you in kind! Keep this in mind when you need a "catch me" kindness. Do this meditation often, choose another good memory and then another. Your cup of kindness will flow in both directions, for what you give you will get back. This will help keep the synergy of goodness flowing to all of creation.

Kindness appears in our lives when we least expect it. A simple gesture of self-care and the unspoken gift of flowers or words written on a card sent across miles to reach a person who may be suffering can sometimes be one of those random acts I'm talking about. The smallest kind gesture that can change an entire person's perspective in seconds!

People these days are feeling forgotten and unseen. They are talking and not being heard. Perhaps just hearing an elder talk about their lives is kindness to them that will help them not feel alone or separate from the world. When we display these acts, we gain a lot of wisdom about how we want to be treated.

Be the kindness you would like to receive. It's easier to give than to receive what my mother used to say and I've learned that to be true. Allowing another to do a kindness for you is also a blessing for the giver. The gracious act of allowing a person to give or do something special to you is important to this fast-paced, ever-changing world we live in. Time is here and now is gone. It's like a wheel within a wheel.

You have to slow down to see the goodness of nature and the beauty that surrounds you in the smallest of scenarios. What kindness can you do for others?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
