It's a magnificent little vegetable, with so many different delicious forms and shapes. The potato is just something that should be admired, and celebrated. Just think, most meals have one form or another and you can have it at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its served at formal dinners, and at ball games. It is more versatile than most people and you can't hold it back. Lets take a look at some of the most beloved ways the Potato is served.
1. MASHED!
Mashed Potatoes are one of the most beloved comfort foods ever. Most picky eaters even enjoy a bowl of mashed potatoes. Some butter, salt and pepper. It is just a big bowl of happy, and comfort. Never underestimate the mashed, whether you're at a diner or a formal restaurant, they rarely disappoint.
2. Baked
It is so masterfully put together, mainly because it is so simple. Just put a slice in the middle, and throw it in the oven. Plop a chunk of butter on the top and let it melt, now you've got a whole lot of buttery potato goodness. And if you are really feeling it, make it loaded. Someone thought to themselves, what can I do to make the baked potato better? Most thought nothing could make it better. But that man/women proved them wrong, by adding BACON! Who'd of thought right?
3. Fried
Everyone loves fries. There are just so many different ways they can be made. Whether it is shoestring ( my FAV) or steak fries. Whether they be curly, or straight. All fries matter, and they are all beautiful. Even if you don't like other forms of potato, you can't help but love at least one type of fry.
4.Chipped
Don't forget the deep fried, salty goodness that is a Potato chip. You can flavor them, whether it be BBQ, salt and vinegar and even Pizza. You can make a chip taste like baked potatoes and that is just incredible.
5. Whatever You Want!
There are so many other ways to serve potatoes. You've got homefries and hashbrowns. You have the great potato wedges and the delicious potato skins, seemingly you have more ways to make a potato than to do most other things.
The Irish knew the greatness of the potato, and luckily they brought it to us. I thank the Irish immensely for bringing this great produce to America and every person who has created the ways the potato has been served. Whatever way you like it cooked, from mashed to fried. Whether it be breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Potatoes are a gift from above.
