This past weekend I had the privilege of watching my sorority's bid day from an alumnae perspective. It brought up a lot of different feelings about my time at Florida Southern, and my time in Kappa Delta, so I figured why not write about it?
Post grad life is like a whole other world that you really can't prepare for. Wake up before the sun, work all day, get home workout, make dinner, watch Netflix, and go to sleep. That pretty much sums up my life these past few months. I have made some awesome new friends, and I love my job, but nothing will ever compare to what you have in college. Don't take that for granted! Having your best friends in the whole wide world five steps away from you door is something so so special.
Here is some advice for the college students out there still adjusting to all of the change fall brings.
If you are a senior reading this, go into the year with open hearts, and open minds, and make the most out of all those "lasts" because one day you will look back on them and be so thankful and in awe of the ways God worked in your lives during your four years.
If you are a junior reading this, soak it up. Junior year is awesome, and you are almost at the top. Just live every single day to the fullest, and don't worry about the future. Be in the moment.
If you are a sophomore reading this, congratulations you made it through your freshman year and you've been reunited with your friends again. Be kind to others, and love fiercely. These friends you make during this time, they will be your friends forever.
And, if you are a freshman reading this, you got this. College is a scary time of adjusting, but stay in the word, and know that God may put you in unexpected situations, but you just have to trust that He is working together for YOUR good. Stay up late, eat junk food, and go to the campus dining hall. Those will be things that you miss one day.
Post Grad life definitely isn't college, but it isn't bad at all! Seasons will continue to change, but the memories you make during your 4 years in college will last a lifetime.
