Positivity is something I have struggled with recently, but I continue to strive for. I think positivity has the power to brighten a strangers day, or help you realize just how fortunate you are. Positivity is hard to come by these days when everyone is in such a rush to get to work or write an essay for a class but I believe it is something we need to aim for as a community.

It is not easy to put a smile on when you're consumed in a world full of stress. However, when you start changing your perspective on life, so does your attitude. There are so many little things you can do every day to help yourself be positive and spread it!

1. Ask How Someone's Day Is Going

You would not believe how reliving it is for someone to ask "How's your day going?" if you're having an off day. I think something as simple as saying "Hello" or just acknowledging other people is so important because it is the kind thing to do. Everyone has long days and gets stuck in traffic jams but hell, you might as well try to make it bearable with positive communication!

2. Get Off Your Phone

This is probably my number one pet peeve with society today...GET OFF YOUR PHONE! Enjoy life and be in the moment- not checking your Twitter feed. Go outdoors or do something spontaneous but trust me you will feel so much more content when you unplug and unwind.

3. Give Time

Giving your time to others is a quality that was instilled in me when I was very young. However, I think it is so important to be able to reflect on the blessings you have and realize that you need to give back as well. Whether it be a volunteer job or dropping off donations, people will appreciate the little things you do to give back to your community. This is a great way to spread positivity!

4. Get In To A Healthy RoutineĀ

Getting in to a routine may be arduous, but it is so worth it. By starting a routine, you can mark off the tasks you've done for the day leaving yourself feeling accomplished. My go to routine that leaves me feeling refreshed and positive definitely includes some gym time and clean eating. I like to includes these because I constantly create new goals for myself at the gym and it can be fun to clean eat and try new meals! Overall this definitely boosts my body positivity.

5. Remind Your Friends/Family How Much They Mean To You

I would be nothing without my family and friends. The overall love and support they have for me is tremendous but this is something I need to remind them of frequently. Words go a long way with people and I know that when my friends remind me of how special I am, it makes me happy and want to share that feeling with someone else. Giving compliments to the people you love is so important because it reminds them that they aren't taken for granted. Odds are if you're spreading positivity, so will they!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
