There was a little throwback this weekend for some of us with T-Pain bringing his tunes to the MU Quad. We were able to rock out to some songs that got us through our teen years and enjoy a beautiful night. Along with the night of entertainment and pleasure comes was the line to the portable bathrooms.
The light blue convenient toilet boxes stood in a row by the fence. The herd of people crowding the doors was a struggle to stand in for at least 30 minutes. It is an interesting time in the bathroom line. You meet people, learn new things, and if you cut the line, you make some enemies. To make things a little more of a struggle, the majority of the people were intoxicated... with excitement, which made the wait a little more frustrating. I was standing in this massive crowd of people for some time and wondered if we had paid to stare at the blue rooms rather than T-Pain. In this line I heard people talk about their dogs, dinner plans, the bar scene, and the fact that they weren’t wearing panties and it would be a problem if the didn’t get a blue room soon.
I feel like I learned a lot about some people and too much about others. I, in fact, cut in line. When I say cut I mean I stood in front of two people to be next to my friend. It is dark out there and nobody wants to stand alone in the bathroom line. I am sorry to the young lady who had a lot to say about that incident. The blue rooms could have actually stolen the show that night because I could see them better than I ever saw T-Pain. I was also in the bathroom line longer than I was in the crowd of the concert. So, I thought of some things that could make your next bathroom line a little more enjoyable.
- Bring some snacks because you might be there for a long time.
- When you do cut, make sure you yell sorry at least four times to the people you cut. That is just nice manners.
- Don’t talk about your personal life because it won't be personal anymore.
- If you are talking trash, stop, because everyone can hear you and it makes you look bad.
- Don’t take selfies in line because there will be strangers in all of them.
- When you are in the porta potty, don’t take your sweet time. Get in and out.
- Meet the people around you! You never know who you could become lifelong friends with.
- Tell other bathroom line stories.
- Flirt with attractive singles.
- Use the bathroom before going to the concert and skip the time-waster that is the blue room line.
We all enjoyed T-Pain, or the blue room line, or both this weekend. Either way, it was an experience and a memory. Perhaps new friends were made, or new romantic interests. Then you can tell the story of how you met in the line for the porta potty at a T-Pain concert at OSU.
