I thought it was a hipster phase— wanting every polaroid camera I laid my eyes on. As it turns out, though, I still have the itch to expand my collection. Which is rather depressing because the film is EXPENSIVE. Coming from someone who personally makes her boyfriend take the same picture 15 plus times, there is something fun and adventurous about one snap.
If you know someone who already has their own vintage polaroid but is looking to expand their polaroid loving collection, here are a few gift ideas for this holiday season. Or you can buy them for yourself. #treatyoself.
1. HP Sprocket Portable Photo Printer
This is perfect for someone who wants a polaroid esque picture but still wants to make sure they look Insta worthy. This device prints photos from your phone's camera roll via an app. Using Bluetooth technology the picture will print out 2x3 pictures. The app allows you to add stickers, text, and borders to the picture.
2. Lomography Lomo'Instant Wide Central Park Edition Camera
For the polaroid lover who wants more room to play. This camera has Fully Automatic & Creative Shooting Modes, a fully Programmatic Shutte, a remote Control Lens Cap, a 90mm Lens (built-in), an Ultra Wide-Angle Lens, and a Close-Up Lens. This camera has been on my wish list for at least a year, but I can't bring myself to splurge considering every time you buy the film you have to splurge again. So splurge and think of me while you take your beautiful crafted pictures.
3. Polaroid Snap Instant Digital Camera
My brother gifted this to me last Christmas and I take it everywhere with me. Not only is it small and travels well, but the film for this camera is ten times cheaper than the film for my refurbished Polaroid from the 80's. (Don't get me wrong, that camera is still the love of my life, just super expensive.) This is literally the perfect gift for a polaroid lover.
4. Impossible Polaroid 600 and Instant Lab Film, Color with Round Frame
How to be basic and artsy at the same time: buy this film. If you or the person you are buying this for already owns a Polaroid that uses 600 film, then this is a must have. It's a creative twist to the basic polaroid square.
5. Hanging Photo Organizer
What is the point of taking the photos if you can't show them off, right? This wall hanger is the perfect way to showcase your favorite shots without just taping them up on your wall aka me.
6. LED String Lights with Photo Clips
Tealights AND polaroids. It's basically hipster heaven. It's battery operated so feel free to place this anywhere in your house, no need for it to be close to an outlet.
