If you have any sort of presence on social media (i.e. you don't live under a rock), chances are that you've heard, at least once, about the newest mobile app sensation — Pokémon Go. Hundreds of twenty-somethings are leaving their houses after years of social isolation in order to "catch 'em all." As any sort of pop culture fad goes, there has been several ups and downs associated with the game. Here are six gifs that everyone who has played the game can relate to.
When you catch your first Pokémon.
The initial excitement that comes along with the first successful capture is also coupled with crippling nostalgia and the realization that you aren't an eight year-old kid with a GameBoy anymore, but I digress. It's still a really cool feeling.
Finding them in extremely ironic locations.
Why is that Lapras in a cornfield?? Who decided to put this Fearrow on my birdfeeder?? Is that a Machop on an airplane wing?? These are the questions that need answers.
Running into fellow players.
You want to be excited that the world is becoming more and more like the Pokémon world, but you also feel fiercely competitive and don't want to lose out on any finds because of them. It's a weird dynamic.
Playing while driving.
