Please Think Before You Speak
QyGjxz

This is an excerpt from my personal journal on the night of October 02, 2017. This was the first time I had been able to form coherent thoughts on the Las Vegas tragedy, even though this seems rather scatterbrained. My intent is that human lives should never be used as leverage for any political movement. Ever. Not even in the slightest. Humans are not and never should be used as pawns, whether they are dead or alive.

Please think about what you are saying before you start to push your gun control views. Please think about the at least 59 who died and the 500 more who are still hurt. Please think about the lives that they were in the middle of living before you tell someone how it could’ve been stopped. Please choose to live a loving life for the rest of your days. The only way to win against terrorism is to not let it get us down. We as humans, not as Americans must band together and show solidarity. Pray, mourn, be hopeful! We must stand together as one and do these things. Americans died mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters. These souls were husband and wives, they were best friends, and most importantly they were human. So please don’t use this tragedy to push any agenda. It’s so much more than that, it’s about hate and love, now’s not the time. Now’s the time to stand up together as one unified in love. Now‘s the time to forget our differences. Democrats and Republicans don’t matter in this anymore all that matters is it real human lives were taken 59 of them and real human lives were harmed 500 of them. Families were ruined lives were destroyed. And all you can think about; all you can say is that if gun control had been stricter this wouldn’t have happened, or that if we had less gun control this wouldn’t have happened. Seriously that’s all you can think about is a political movement and an agenda. Please dig down deep to your most basic form and just feel human again. What does it feel like to lose a loved one or best friend? Do you want to hear someone talk about gun control rhetoric? If you were directly involved in this tragedy is that what you want to hear about? Or do you just want humans; your neighbors and your friends to mourn with you. United as one not for the cause of gun control, but for the cause of loving on one another.

Please hear me loud and clear when I say that I am not at all saying that politics do not play an important role in activating change. However reactionary policies are rarely effective.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
