Playlist To Get You Through The Whole Day

Music is a necessary part of the day. It helps you relieve stress, take a dance break, ponder life, and relax. Here is a playlist to help you do just that for every step your day!

*Warning: Some songs are explicit on the Spotify playlist, I did my best to find the radio verison on YouTube!*

Waking up:

This one is pretty obvious. How can you have a bad day when the first thing you listen to is an upbeat song literally talking about how it is going to be a good day. Might as well set it as your alarm clock!

When you are trying to remind your bed that it is your one true love and you will be back for it:

Bonus if you change the lyrics to “waking up is hard to do”

Showering:

The perfect beat to wash your hair to and the perfect time to practice rapping for when you may have a “Pitch Perfect” sing-off.

Laying back in bed while still in a towel:

“But you'll be on my mind Forever”…. You to your bed.

Brushing your shower hair:

Ripping through all the knots and losing half your hair in the process…

“I will let you down, I will make you hurt”… Your “pain free, detangle” hairbrush to you.

Brushing your teeth:

Two minutes for brushing your teeth, two minutes for using your toothbrush as a microphone and pretending your Justin Bieber.

Morning commute:

Because this song sounds pretty good on (almost all) car speakers and you cant help but bob your head.

Before your first class/ work starts:

“You gotta hold on”… till the end of the day, and then you can go back to bed. Halleluiah.

Coffee/Lunch break:

Peppy and encouraging because you have halfway made it through your day!

When you are done with other humans for the day:

Because you are your favorite person and you know it.

Evening commute:

*Thinking of everything that you have to do the rest of the week*

When your cat won’t let you pet them:

“Cause I can’t make you love me if you won’t…”

…*cries*

When you are making/ eating dinner:

The only time jazz music does not make you anxious.

When you are pondering your major, job, or life choices:

“Are you living the life you chose?”

Getting ready for bed:

This song just gets you, your life, and your current situation.

Going to bed:

Soundtracks are always a good sleeping music. Bonus points if it is Hans Zimmer.

Here is the full playlist on Spotify to make finding all of the songs and getting through your day easier!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
