Players weekend is a weekend in baseball where the league allows the players to let their true selves show through fun jerseys and allotment of nicknames on the back of said jerseys. It is a weekend of youth and fun, a simple reminder to the players why they choose to play this game.

Uniforms worn, often referred to as "alternate uniforms," are brightly colored to represent the youthfulness of the game. Uniforms like these are often seen worn by players in the Little League, connecting the Major League players to their roots. Teams feature their two main colors in block style jerseys that brighten up the field. Socks and cleats are left up to the choice of the individual. However, being the stars that they are, these players never pass up an opportunity to show off their styles. Extravagant cleats are designed for players to showcase foundations, movies, or characters of their choosing.

Another feature of these standout uniforms are patches worn on the sleeves of each player. These patches give the players a chance to thank important figures in their life while playing the game. Whether it is a family member, a close friend, or an influential coach, players are grateful to have the opportunity to give proper credit to those who have supported them throughout their career.

Nicknames chosen by the players are also featured on the back of the jerseys. These creative names are often the talk of the weekend, and players never fail to come up with something interesting. Whether they choose a play on their own name or go with a nickname they have had all their lives, players love being able to show their personality through fun nicknames. Below are five of the best nicknames for the exciting weekend.

Shane Bieber — NOT JUSTIN — Bieber was just trying to clear up some confusion between himself and the famous pop star!

Hunter Pence — UNDERPANTS — Say "Hunter Pence" three times fast. Get it now?

Ender Inciarte — GAME ENDER — A little play on words from the Braves' center-fielder.

Joey Gallo — PICO DE GALLO — Tacos anyone?

Yasiel Puig — WILD HORSE — A nickname that fits a personality perfectly.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
