There are many restaurants that I have in my top five favorites. From Drive Thru restaurants to really fancy places, I've been able to experience many restaurants. Some of the restaurants that are in my top five are chains and there are a couple that are not. My top five restaurants include: Red Robin, Archie Moores, Salt Bay Cafe, Uno's Chicago Bar and Grill, and Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Even though this article might make you guys hungry, I hope you guys have the chance to go and try some of these places.
Red Robin
I had the experience to try Red Robin for the first time this year at Patriot Place with some of my friends from college. I've always wanted to go but I never have gotten the chance to until recently. I was so excited to try this place. There are many Red Robin locations worldwide so there's a good chance that you might find one in your area. The closest location from my school is in Foxborough and the closest one to where I live in Fairfield Connecticut, about 15-20 minutes away from the Milford Mall.
Once I looked at the menu for the very first time, I knew it would be a tough choice to decide what I wanted to get. After a minute, I knew that I had to try a burger and a side of their steak fries so that's what I ordered. Besides burgers, they are plenty of other entrees to choose from like their mac and cheese, their fish and chips, or chicken tenders and fries. My recommendation is to order one of their burgers. I'm not very picky when it comes to toppings but I've seen people get burgers with onion rings and chicken strips on it. I really liked their steak fries though. They serve large portions of fries and you can even ask for bottomless fries meaning that they give you as many fries as you want. Their menu isn't too pricey, but it also depends on what you get. There are also many good appetizer options. The price range is between $3 and $9 for an appetizer. My friends and I got the onion ring tower which is really good. If your family is looking for a good place to eat, Red Robin is a great place to try.
Archie Moores
Archie Moores might be, out of my top five restaurants, my favorite but its hard to decide really which place is my favorite because there all good. Archie Moores is a bar and grill that only has locations in Connecticut. Their locations are in Milford, Derby, New Haven, Wallingford, and the one that I usually go to is in downtown Fairfield. So if you're ever in the area of these locations, going to Archies will be a place you want to go.
I have been many times but there is always one thing I usually order: their buffalo wings. Their buffalo wings might be some of the best wings I have ever had. You are able to order anywhere from seven pieces to almost fifty. It's a great place to go with friends and go to watch sports in the bar area. Besides wings, I would recommend a few of their entrees like wraps, nachos, and burgers. The prices aren't too bad overall. This is another great restaurant to try out if you're near any of their locations in Connecticut.
Uno's Chicago Bar and Grill
As a child, this was always a go-to place for my family. I always remember getting the tiny dinosaur chicken nuggets or make my own pizza from the kids menu. A couple of years ago, the Uno's that was five minutes from my house closed in Fairfield. The only other location we could go to then was in Milford. We went to that one couple times but then that location ended up closing. Finally my dad told me that there were no longer any other Uno's locations in Connecticut. Now when I go out to eat with my grandparents in Westborough Massachusetts, I go to the Uno's that is right down the street from their house.
Their menu has been updated the last couple of times I have been. My grandpa told me that one of the reasons why he likes going to Uno's is for their variety on the menu. I told him that I definitely agree with him. My favorite meal to order from Uno's is the primo pepperoni individual pizza for my entree and the boneless buffalo chicken bites as an appetizer. There are many other appetizers and entrees to choose from that anyone would like.
There are many Uno's locations all around the U.S although the majority of their locations are in the Northeast Area. A goal of mine in the future is to go to the original Uno's location in Chicago. Uno's is a place I would recommend as a great family friendly restaurant, well known for their deep dish pizza!
Salt Bay Cafe
If you are looking for nice seafood in Maine, then this place is for you. Ever since my family has been to our old summer house in Maine, we would always stop at the Salt Bay Cafe. It is located in downtown Damariscotta. The Salt Bay Cafe is very small so sometimes it is hard to see from the road. The majority of the menu they provide is seafood. My favorite meal to get is the fried clam strips. Before coming here for my very first time, I wasn't really a person who liked clams. Once I tried them here though, I thought that I would like them at any other seafood place. Their menu also has fish and chips, haddock and other types of seafood to choose from. For drinks they have basic coca cola products and as well as many other beverages to choose from. If you are ever in Maine and looking for nice seafood, I would highly recommend this place.
Five Guys Burgers and Fries
When I was in middle school, sometimes I would come home from school and have myself a snack. My sister would have to go to either a drama rehearsal or a dance class. When she would get home I would ask her, "Did you have anything to eat with your friends?" She would sometimes say, "I had Five Guys." After a while, I looked at the menu and I thought that this place was going to be good. The first time I went to Five Guys, I was in for a treat. I ordered myself a burger with fries. Once I took a bite of the burger and had one of the fries, I thought it was great.
At Five Guys, their fries have peanut oil on them and they are delicious. You can also ask for free peanuts and they'll give you some. They are many Five Guys locations in the U.S. They also hot dogs and other types of sandwiches besides burgers. I'll tell you this, you once you go to Five Guys once, you'll want to go back many more times.
After describing my top five favorite restaurants, I really hope you guys get the chance to experience some of them. There are many other places I like to eat but I have to say that these are the ones that I always enjoy coming back to.
