Places I Would Love To Travel To In Italy

Italy is wellknown for its breathtaking views and beautiful tourist attractions. As a member of an Italian family and being 100 percent Italian, I would love to visit the homeland of my great-grandparents one day. I believe all people, regardless of heritage, should visit a place filled with such unique sights and artwork.


1. Naples.

Located near Mount Vesuvius, this city is filled with breathtaking views and famous artwork.


2. Genoa.

One of Italy's largest cities, located near a beautiful harbour and surrounded by parks and promenades.


3. Venice.

Who wouldn't want to view the sights of this city by gondola?


4. Capri.

An Italian island filled with beach resorts and high-end shops. Say no more.


5. Florence.

Known for historic architectures and famous cathedrals.


6. Verona.

Home of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet." Where's my plane ticket?


7. Pompeii.

A breathtaking site showcasing the ruins formed by the eruption of Mount. Vesuvius in 79 C.E.


8. Saint Peter's Basilica, Rome.

An Italian Renaissance church located in Vatican City.


9. Trastevere, Rome.

A medieval neighborhood filled with cafes, shops and cobblestone streets.


10. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan.

One of the world's oldest shopping malls located in Milan. What's better than shopping in Italy?


11. Prato della Valle, Padua.

Italy's largest square!


12. Fonte Gaia, Siena.

A monumental fountain located in the center of Siena.


13. Postiano, Campania.

A cliffside village with a gorgeous view of the beach filled with boutiques and cafes.


14. Chianti Country, Tuscany.

The wine region of Tuscany! Sign me up!


From the photos above, it is clear Italy is the home of one-of-a-kind sights and attractions. One day, I hope to visit Italy and I am sure many others would love to do so as well. The food, shops, art and history make Italy a location worth visiting more than once.
