In no particular order, here are some of the best places around the world to visit if you are interested in the field of psychology:

1. The Brain Museum: Lima, Peru

Let's start with the reason we are able to study the field of psychology at all: the brain. Absolutely not for the weak of stomach. Pictured above is their famous collection of human brains on display.

2. Carl Jung Institute: Los Angeles, California

An institute dedicated to the study of Carl Jung. It was originally started to continue to spread his views and ideas (Jungian psychology), as well as a place to study his work for those who could not go to Zurich to study with Jung.

3. Psychology Museum: University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia

This is the oldest and largest psychology collection in Australia, with thousands of pieces of early laboratory equipment and mental testing artifacts, as well as visual and audio displays.

4. Freud Museum: London, England

Sigmund Freud's last residence, and former home of his daughter Anna, after escaping Nazi occupation in Vienna. The most sought after sight is the centerpiece in the museum is the psychoanalytic couch that was used all of Freud's patients during their sessions.

5. Oregon State Hospital Museum of Mental Health: Salem, Oregon

While it was the movie set for the adaption of the film "One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest,", it has a much darker and truer history. The museum's purpose is to educate and help everyone understand the many issues in mental health care and treatment as well as assist in removing the stigma attached to mental health disorders and seeking treatment.

6. Down House: London, England

Home of the world-renowned scientist, Charles Darwin, where you can stand in his study where he wrote Origin of the Species and the garden which he coined his outdoor laboratory.

7. Viktor Frankl Institute: Vienna, Austria

The home of Viktor Frankl, the founder of logotherapy and author of Man's Search for Meaning. It is also a place to get familiar and dive deep into his additions into the field of psychology.

8. Franz Kafka's House: Prague, Czech Republic

Franz Kafka's House sets the stage of existential psychology and is a wonderful place to get familiar with his work, such as "The Judgment" where he used Freudian symbols throughout to express his problems.

9. Center for the History of Psychology: Akron, Ohio

Home to the shock machine used in (the questionably moral) experiment of Charlie Milgrim on obedience as well as many other artifacts and rotating exhibits on important studies, people, and findings in psychology.

10. Anne Frank House: Amsterdam, Netherlands

While not explicitly about psychology, this is a museum that will push you to look at the psychology of the masses and what human beings are capable of doing.

11. Museum of the History of Psychological Instrumentation: Virtual

Online museum (currently unreachable) that was dedicated to the preservation of psychological lore and instrumentation. While not particularly flashy or easy to navigate, it is incredibly informative and comprehensive on the history of psychological instrumentation.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
