Looking for places to hang out with friends or to study? Check out these local cafes:

Brew Urban Café : 541 NW 1st Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

Besides their coffee and tea, I love to admire huge collection of books on the wall while lounging on their sofa’s. They’re pet friendly so you may bump into furry friends. The atmosphere is relaxing so you can always get work done. There are movie, music and many other events that occur in that area.

Underground Coffee Haus : 3020 N Federal Hwy #5a, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306

Once you’re there, it will feel like you’ve never left home. There’s a variety of tater tots and coffee flavours to choose from, so be prepared to stand at the registered confused on which flavor to pick. There are books to read or purchase and board games to play.

Ella Café: 9743 W Broward Blvd, Plantation, FL 33324

This place has a unique chic style of serving in glass milk bottles and a wooden serving plank. A must try is their nutella flavor.

Mojo Donuts: 7906 Pines Blvd, Hollywood, FL 33024

The doughnuts are the main focus but the coffee paired with their gourmet doughnuts is the cherry on top. How can you not get coffee with the dessert?

Parlour Vegan Bakery:1487 S University Dr #3, Plantation, FL 33324

This place is probably every vegans dream since every item on the menu is vegan. Their price range is affordable and there are many options for coffee.

The Alchemist: 2430 NE 13th Ave #1, Wilton Manors, FL 33305

You may get flashbacks of chemistry lab from their flask set ups but it will be worth it for their notable coffee. Outdoor seating is available which is relaxing when the weather is nice out.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
