14 Best Places for UW Students to Eat Off Campus

Sick of dinning hall food?

Want to get out of your sorority or fraternity and dine out?

Here are some of the best spots for UW students to eat out on the Ave.

Qdoba

1200 NE 45th St.

Located right on 45th past the Ave, it’s speed and value all in one. The new Royalty program grants a free entree for every 10 as well.

Chipotle

4229 University Way NE

The war of Qdoba vs. Chipotle is a vicious one. Fortunately the Ave features both for which ever side you find yourself on. May not have the rewards program, but it does have margaritas if you’re of age!

Hawaiian BBQ

4549 University Way NE

Lots of food for a low price. The owner is always present and has an uncanny memory for his regular customers. The largest plates are also named after Fraternity houses. So that’s fun!

Mongo

4523 University Way NE

The most food for your dollar on the ave. Ruzhen Mongolian Grill is where the thrifty college student goes to pack as much food into their bowl as possible, often allowing for three meals at the price of one.

Earls

4333 University Way NE

It’s a bar, so most students hit this up for late night drunk food delivery. Cheap, greasy, and delicious but the only downside is the lengthy wait and difficulty getting through to order.

Jimmy Johns

4141 University Way NE

The quickest delivery spot, they’ll delivery almost anywhere. Do you want a sandwich in the middle of the quad on a sunny day? They're the place to call, and one of their friendly bikers will bring it right to you!

EJs

45th St University District

They are open late and their burger selection is unique beyond compare.

Teriyaki First

5201 University Way NE

Pretty far up the ave, it’s a place preferable if you have a car. It's cheap, and definitely more aimed at take-out customers. Pro tip: order the spicy chicken, it’s cooked fresher than the standard teriyaki.

Which Witch

4730 University Way NE

This is a make it yourself sandwich place, they have an insane amount of options. Plus, you can get lettuce wraps that are actually pretty hefty.

Costas

4559 University Way NE

This restaurant is on the pricier side but it’s the best brunch spot around!

Mod

1414 NE 42nd St

Think of it as the Subway of pizza. It's quick, tasty, and there's gluten free options!

Than vi

42nd St & 43rd St
University District

Best Pho around. End of story.

Thai Tom

4543 University Way NE

Eat here at least once. It’s a small establishment so getting a table takes a while, but you sit right up close to the chefs and can watch your food get cooked.

Thaiger Room

4228 University NE

Second best Thai place below Thai Tom, but larger and a better to dine in. They also deliver for orders above $20.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
