I was a little bummed about taking summer classes, but then I remembered that I get to stay and enjoy all the food that Tuscaloosa has to offer. Here are five restaurants that you shouldn't miss out on:
1. Fuzzy's Tacos
Fuzzy's is a taco shop that originated in Forth Worth, Texas, and is most popular for its baja-style tacos. Fuzzy's also offers quesadillas, nachos, burritos and more. They just opened earlier this year in downtown Tuscaloosa.
2. Edgar's Bakery
If you want breakfast or lunch and have a sweet tooth, Edgar's is the perfect place for you! They have everything from pancakes to grilled cheese and anything baked that your heart could ever desire. 10/10 would recommend the strawberry cake and you can head to the Tuscaloosa Galleria to check it out and get a slice.
3. The Avenue Pub
Located in downtown Tuscaloosa, this restaurant offers a variety of American cuisine and usually has live music as well. Order the chicken club sandwich and ask for the pub fries if you want the best experience.
4. City Cafe
Nestled away in the downtown Northport area, City Cafe is a place where you can get true decadent southern cuisine at a decent price. If you miss your grandmother's cooking, get here stat and get the okra. Also, if you're hungry for breakfast, they open realllllly early.
5. Southern Ale House
For the most unique menu, Southern Ale House in Northport is the place to go. They offer a refreshing southern take on a caesar salad, as well as a variety of burgers and biscuit sandwiches. The bacon-wrapped meatloaf is a life-changing experience.
