My personal ratings of pain for each piercing and tattoo I have

I have a total of 5 tattoos and 7 piercings, I've also gauged my ears. The question that I get asked the most and I mean the most is "Did that hurt?" (points to one of my piercings or one of my tattoos) So this article is to answer that question. Next to each one will be a number and that's will be my personal rating of the pain on a scale of 1-10. Another note: These are my personal ratings of pain for some people it could hurt more than it did for me or it could hurt less than it did for me, everyone is different.

1. Chest tattoo right above my heart (3)

This was my first tattoo and its over a pretty fleshy area and the rule of thumb for most tattoos is the thicker and fleshier the area the less a tattoo will hurt. In all honesty i barely felt this tattoo it was more of a sting that anything and the next thing I knew it was over. It took maybe 15 minutes.

2. Small tattoo between my wrist and forearm (2)

Most people ask about this one because it's close to the wrist and usually wrist tattoos hurt. This one was also a quick one it took maybe 10 minutes, again a light sting but other than that barely any pain.

3. Tattoo running the length of my arm (4)

This one although the writing is small it started to hurt the higher up it got, the tattoo artist started at my wrist. The higher up on my arm he got the more of a stinging pain I started to feel but all in all not too bad.

4. Tattoo on my thigh (2)

This tattoo is the Buddhist ohm symbol and it took closer to 25 minutes mostly because the lines are thick. This tattoo also barely hurt, in fact I was so busy talking to the tattoo artist that I didn't realize he was almost done when he said he was.

5. Full color tattoo on my upper arm near my shoulder (6)

This one hurt a lot more than the others but mostly because of how big it is compared to the other ones that I have. It's also full color so a lot more went into this tattoo than my other ones. There was shading and details. This one also bled and swelled a whole lot more and it took a few days for the swelling to go down. But it was worth the two hours it took for the artist to complete it.

Now on to my piercings

1. Industrial (5)

The way the piercer explained the way it would feel when I asked was that the first hole is a joke and the second one stings a little. That's basically how it felt to. I'd say a 5 for a cartilage piercing is pretty good.

2. Nose (8)

This piercing hurt like crap for me but mostly when the piercer put in the jewelry more than when the actual needle went through. But it's super cute so worth it.

3. Daith piercing a.k.a the headache piercing (5-6)

I have both of my daiths pierced and the left one hurt a little more than the right but for me it stopped my headaches. I use to have headache almost everyday and the night I walked out with my first one I didn't have a headache for the first time in almost two months

4. Septum (4)

The first time I got my septum done it got messed up and the guy who did it pierced my cartilage after almost two months of awful pain I took it out and let the hole heal. I still have scar tissue in my nose where he pierced it. He missed the sweet spot by about a millimeter. I finally got it re-pierced and it was pierced correctly and it hardly hurt at all.

5. Monroe (1)

Even though this is a lip piercing it had the pain level of an ear piercing. This one had basically no pain.

6. Belly Button (1)

This piercing was also messed up the first time it was done and was pierced too shallow, I finally got it redone and it was done correctly and the clamps the piercer used hurt more than the actual piercing.

Gauges

My gauges are up to 00 gauges and for my the jump from 2 to 0 and 0 to 00 are the two that hurt the most. Side note if you gauge your ears please please please do not skip sizes or try to size up without letting them heal first. You will mess up you ear and possibly have a blow out. It can and usually will happen. Now if anyone who is reading this skipped sizes and sized up without waiting and your ears are fine good you were lucky, but someone else might not be. Also the tapers are not meant to be worn as jewelry especially once you get to the bigger sizes, I know some of them have cute designs on them but that doesn't mean you should wear them. Some bra and under wear sets have cute patterns on them to but that doesn't mean they can be worn as bathing suits.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
