Picking Classes As Told By Friends

It's that stressful time of year again where college students have to figure out their schedule for next semester. Trying to find the perfect times and days for classes can sometimes be impossible if you aren't a senior. At my school, seniors and people who play sports get first pick. Here is picking your classes as told by the characters from "Friends".

1. When you slowly start to see your plan A and B classes fill up and you now have to come up with a plan C.

2. When your friends brag about how they got into all the classes they wanted.

3. When the class you need to take is only available at night.

4. When you look at how many requirements you have left and realize you aren't going to graduate on time.

5. Your reaction when your parents ask you how picking your classes is going.

6. When you typed the registration numbers as fast as you could and still didn't get half the classes from Plan C that you wanted.

7. And now you have to scramble to find a plan D.

8. When all the madness is over and you somehow ended up in a class with a few of your friends.

9. You start to think you might have worried too much.

10. All you need is a good night out.

11. Here's to not having to worry about your schedule until next semester!

12. But then you realize you also have to pick housing next semester.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
