Pick Me. Choose Me. Love Me.

What was Meredith Grey really saying?

Pick Me. Choose Me. Love Me.

"Okay here it is. Your choice. It’s simple. Her or me. And I’m sure she’ s really great. But Derek, I love you, in a really, really big — pretend to like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a radio over my head outside your window — unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you. So pick me. Choose me. Love me." — Dr. Meredith Grey, Grey's Anatomy

All true Grey's fans live by this memorable saying by the beloved Meredith Grey. But someone may ask — what does "Pick me. Choose me. Love me." really mean?

Pick Me

No one wants someone to be with them for the wrong reasons. They want them to specially pick them over others and genuinely want to be with them, but not for the wrong reasons.

"Pick me" means you don’t want someone who doesn’t want you. You have this feeling there is still something there, and if there is, you don’t want to give up on it.

This means to just stop everything with everyone else. Cut everyone else out of the picture that you show interest in. If they pick you today, you will pick them every day from now on. Picking them isn't a choice. Your heart has already chosen.

Stand there in front of them and verbally tell them to pick you. Beg and plead because you know no other life without them.

Choose Me

Everyone must make choices in life. Some may be little choices, while others can impact everything. They impact your future and your life forever.

When you say "choose me," this may sound desperate. But you're there putting everything out on the line and holding nothing back, because that's how passionate you feel.

You are saying you want them and only them. You are wanting them to choose only you for now and forever.

Love me

While our hearts choose who we love, we make the choice to stay in love every day. Love doesn't just happen — two people have to work to make it stay alive.

Love isn't something you need to question. You know when you know. You want them more than you want anyone. If it's not the two of you, in the end, you don't know if you will be okay.

It's always only ever been them. It always will be. The feeling won't go away and eventually, you'll find your way back to each other.

Love is a want and a need. You want them, but you really just need them. Because the only thing that has ever made sense in your life has been them.

You want to make it, and pray that you do. So you stand there in front of them and play every card you have, asking them to simply love you.

"Just because we can live without something, it doesn't mean we have to." — Dr. Meredith Grey

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
