Nine beautifully painted pianos sit in different parks and locations throughout the City of Corvallis, Oregon.
Placing the pianos throughout the city is an event known as Play Corvallis, Play. The event is held to help the community become educated about the needs of music and art programs, as well as bring the community together by sharing their talents. The pianos are free to play between the hours of 7 am and 10 pm until Aug. 16.
Play Corvallis, Play is the kickoff event for Corvallis Imagination Music and Art Festival (CIMA festival). CIMA festival is a two-day event where families can enjoy music, food, and art, for free, with their community. CIMA festival has live bands, food vendors, and over 30 different booths with homemade products for sale. Proceeds made at the CIMA festival go straight to the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation. This year’s goal is to raise $9,000 dollars. CIMA festival is held at Bruce Starker Arts Parks, and starts Friday, Aug. 14 and ends Saturday, Aug. 15.

Where do the pianos go when the Play Corvallis, Play and the CIMA festival is over?
Instead of going in storage for the rest of the year, nine local families are chosen to temporarily house the pianos. If you and your family would like to foster a piano until next year's CIMA festial, contact Lee Eckroth. Here is a message from Lee.
See you at the CIMA Festival!
